I Think I’m Ready For Blackberry Rehab

A few years ago, I took the plug and got a Blackberry Pearl 8120 with WiFi.  I loved my new toy from the start. Even though it took most of my weekend, while attending a family reunion, to get the thing working correctly.  I loved the idea of finding hidden hotspots and being able to talk and surf for free.  And, the plan was to get the T-Mobile at Home package that will help reduce my expenses.

Well, that didn’t happen, and my Blackberry is acting kookier than normal.  I’m tired of taking the battery out and resetting it.  Upgrading the software just to loose apps and don’t get my started on my journeys out of town.  You try being out of town on a shopping trip and not be able to get text messages from your bank with an account balance.  I mean this was an outlet shopping trip and I needed to know if I could treat myself to that Coach bag I had my eye on all year.  By the way, that tech call took almost a half hour and the problem wiped out all of my messages.  And the texting functions till didn’t work.

Moving On…

Now, I have my eye on the T-Mobile My Touch.  The jury is still out on whether or not I’ll get it.  I need to see it up close and personal before I make the commitment.  Until then, I’m going to reserve my room at the Blackberry rehab center.

Twitter Family Affair

Monday, June 8th, 2009

Psst…are you following me yet?

It’s hard to believe, but it has been almost two years  since I first took up space on twitter.  I had no clue how it worked, what I would use it for, or if it was remotely possible it could turn into an addiction as everyone said it would.  Well, 1036 followers and 5308 updates later, I can tell you that it can easily turn into an addiction.  It can also turn into a great place to meet and network with people from around the world who share your interests, and some who will introduce you to something new.  Here is my twitter family.  Different backgrounds, different goals all sharing a global conversation.

I find it’s a great way to introduce yourself to wide variety of people, get help and feedback almost instantly, and to share my love of writing, crafting and knitting to those that are interested.  I also use it to stay connected to you.  Become apart of the my twitter family and become apart of the conversation.  I’d love to hear from you!

Flip Mino

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

I have been waiting patiently to buy a small video camera to use with my blogging.  I can now make the leap and I was still a bit undecided about which way to go.  So, this morning, after reading a ton of reviews by folks who know about this sort of thing, I’m going to stick with the original plan and go with the Flip Mino.

I was a bit worried about the video and audio quality until I watched the Salt Pepper Ketchup videos, shot using the Flip Mino.  It’s shot by two guys who sample the delicious street vendor cuisine around the city.  Really.  That’s not a mistype.  It’s The Philadelphia Cart Cuisine Show.  And, it’s fun and interesting.  You should check it out.  Rob even manages to interview a people in the process.

So, I’m making the order today from Wal-Mart.com.  I’m getting the cam on sale with 2 additional accessories included in the deal.  Not bad.

If you do decide to buy it from the site, you can get it customized with a skin to make it uniquely you.  For me, right now, I’ll take the deal.

Do you have a  flip?  Do you like it?  Share some clips with us in the comments below.

Back In Business

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

This is more a test message than anything else.  If this uploads correctly, than that means one thing.  The hosting server transfer was a success!  It also means we are officially back in business.

I have a lot of blogging to catch up on.  I better get started.
